Super RTL spins fairytale

Super RTL in Germany has added two new acquisitions to its 2012/13 programming slate, including US fantasy drama Once Upon a Time.

Programme director Carsten Göttel described the US show as “fantasy entertainment at its best” as the channel unveiled its new line-up.

Once Upon a Time, which returns to US network ABC for a second season this fall, will debut on Super RTL on September 12.

The network has also acquired adventure drama Sinbad, which is currently being aired by satcaster Sky1 in the UK and is distributed by BBC Worldwide. The series follows the German net’s previous BBC acquisitions including Merlin and Robin Hood.

The RTL- and Disney-owned channel has also scheduled new episodes of high school musical drama Glee, a new season of George Lucas’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Disney film Tron: Uprising. Other movies to air include Disney’s Finding Nemo, Aladdin and Cars.
