Super Channel opens development fund

Canadian pay TV network Super Channel has opened the submission process for its development fund.

The broadcaster, owned by Edmonton-based Allarco Entertainment, is now accepting applications for the next round of funding and has set a deadline of March 27, 2015.

Since launching in November 2013, the fund has received hundreds of applications and has supported more than 80 feature films, documentaries and television series.

The channel encourages the advancement of content by and about women, Aboriginal peoples, visible minorities and disabled people.

Melissa Kajpust, head of creative development for Super Channel, said: “We are confident this next round of submissions will continue to surpass our expectations and deliver yet another exciting and diverse range of high-quality projects.”
