Style fashions multimedia arm

NBCUniversal’s Style Network is launching a new multimedia arm encompassing all facets of digital and brand exploitation.

Style Media will help broaden female-skewing Style’s focus into digital, mobile, licensing, merchandising and international television networks.

Style Media will include several new business divisions to complement the existing Style Network channels.

Style Digital will control myStyle.com and Style’s social media platforms while Style International will assume responsibility for the company’s channels in the UK, Australia and Asia which currently extend to 17 million subscribers in 90 countries and nine languages.

Style Licensing and Merchandising will focus on products inspired by Style shows and talent and Style Experiences will enable viewers to engage with the company’s brand through events and retail partnerships.

Salaam Coleman Smith, president of Style Media, said: “The creation of Style Media will broaden our business and allow us to capitalize on Style’s strong consumer base of savvy women with immense purchasing power.”

NBCUniversal previously launched a similar consumer-targeting initiative with its Bravo network.
