Studio 100 plugs in digital division

Belgium-based kids’ production firm Studio 100 has established a new digital arm and appointed a former BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) exec to run it.

Tom Reding takes up the role of digital director with a remit to develop a long-term strategy for the business across tablet, smartphone and console devices, as well as using social media and websites.

Reding was most recently head of digital entertainment and games for BBCWW, working on digital products for shows including Top Gear and Doctor Who.

He said the new division would “harness” the firm’s ambition to create digital products that will “compete on a global scale.”

Studio 100, which has offices in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Hong Kong and Australia, produces a range of family-skewing content including CGI series Maya the Bee, Vic the Viking and the upcoming Heidi.
