The Dutch arm of Scandinavian producer Strix has hired the director of operations at FremantleMedia-owned prodco FourOne Media to lead its push into drama.
Errol Nayci has been appointed creative producer at format specialist Strix Netherlands and will be tasked with overseeing the company’s entry into the Benelux drama market.
Nayci set up the local remake of prison drama format Wentworth (Celblok H) in the Netherlands and was a supervising producer on Bagels & Bubbels, the Dutch remake of Israeli drama Beauty & the Baker, during his time at FourOne.
Meanwhile, via his own production company The Storytellers, Nayci also worked on feature films such as Everybody’s Famous, The Cave, Loonies and Kidnap.
Strix Netherlands is part of Scandinavian broadcaster MTG’s production and distribution arm Nice Entertainment Group and sits alongside Strix Sweden, Strix Drama and Strix Norway.
“With both the public and commercial broadcasters ordering more series and new players like KPN entering the market, we want to be part of the growing appetite for high-quality drama,” said Strix Television CEO Roy Aalderink.
“The Nice Group already has a rich drama history and is run by seasoned drama producers with impressive track records and has an extensive back catalogue we can tap into.”
