Storyville ups Christopher

Betsy Schechter’s fledgling New York production outfit Storyville Entertainment has promoted Caroline Christopher to senior VP of development and production.

In her expanded role, Christopher will manage Storyville’s development and production teams and a slate that includes projects with channels H2, TruTV, Oxygen, SyFy and National Geographic Channel.

Her remit also includes two shows with MTV International including The Ride, an eight-episode reality series that gives fans access to music stars such as Linkin Park and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

Christopher, who was previously VP of development and production, will continue to report to Schechter. Prior to joining Storyville, Christopher was director of development at National Geographic Television.

Schechter, the former co-president of US prodco Picture Shack Entertainment, launched New York-based Storyville in March with a focus on creating content for TV, film, branded and multimedia outlets.

The company is producing a scripted series with Jason Blum, the producer of movie franchise Paranormal Activity, and in April the firm entered a first-look partnership with production and branded content firm Converge Media Group.
