Starz Play strikes NBCU deal

MENA streaming service Starz Play has agreed a deal for shows including Mr Robot and Bates Motel with NBCUniversal International Distribution.

Other shows in the package include 12 Monkeys, the sci-fi drama based on Terry Gilliam’s 1995 film, and superpower drama Heroes.

Subscribers will also be able to watch both seasons of Shades of Blue, starring Jennifer Lopez and Ray Liotta, later this year, while movies such as Luc Besson’s Lucy and The Bourne Legacy will also be available.

Starz Play CEO Maaz Sheikh said: “NBCUniversal is known to cater to a broad audience and we are delighted to announce our deal with such a reputable studio.”

The streamer offers more than 6,000 hours of TV series and movies to subscribers and is available in 19 countries in the MENA region.
