CONTENT STRATEGIES: Uncovering programming opportunities worldwide

Spun Gold sinks teeth into wildlife

London-based indie Spun Gold has made its first move into wildlife programming with a commission from BBC2.

Swimming With Crocodiles (2×60′) will follow adventurer Ben Fogle as he travels the world to reveal the behaviour of wild crocodiles, and even dive with them.

Fogle will travel to Botswana to study the animals under water, then Australia where he comes face to face with the saltwater crocodile.

The programme was commissioned by Tom Edwards and Alison Kirkham at BBC2, and is executive produced by Gillian Wilson for Spun Gold.

Spun Gold has recently been producing royal family content and The Alan Titchmarsh Show for commercial broadcaster ITV.

BBC Worldwide is handling global distribution for the programme, which will air on February 19 and 26.
