SPT preps Colombian original

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has begun production on a new 70-episode Colombian teleseries about a woman and young boy who enter a life of crime.

Anónima is currently shooting in Bogota and will air on local channel RCN Television later this year. SPT is selling the Spanish-language show worldwide.

The teleseries is written by Juan Andrés Granados, Juan Francisco Dominguez and Gerardo Pinzon, and directed by Andres Bierman and Carlos Mario Urrea. Agustín Restrepo is an executive producer.

The plot follows a woman released after ten years in prison who is forced to return to the world of crime she hoped she’d left behind in order to provide for Max, a young boy she has little connection with but ends up acting as mother to.

“There is tremendous opportunity in Latin America for high-quality local productions, which is why Sony Pictures Television is continuing to invest in teleseries like Anónima.” said Angélica Guerra, senior VP and MD of production, Latin America and US Hispanic for SPT.
