SPT moves Young back to Europe

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has moved one of its senior sales executives from Australia and New Zealand to manage its distribution in the UK, Ireland and Africa.

Mark Young has been appointed senior VP of distribution for the three territories at SPT. He previously held the same role covering Australia and New Zealand.

Young replaces Kylie Munnich, who was poached by Sky Vision, the sales arm of European satcaster Sky, in November and left to take up the role of director of drama and comedy this month.

Based in London, Young will lead all film and television licensing negotiations across broadcast and digital platforms working closely with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment across online, VoD and SVoD.

During a three-year spell down under, Young was responsible for the distribution of SPT feature films and TV content to all media including on-demand, pay TV and free to air channels.

Prior to that he was VP of distribution, managing sales across Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Israel, Greece, Cyprus and Turkey. Before joining SPT he had stints with ChelloMedia Enterprises, BskyB and Granada Sky Broadcasting.

Young will report to executive VP of international distribution Mike Wald.
