Sprout, Treehouse welcome Wiggles

Sprout in the US and Treehouse in Canada have acquired rights to the forthcoming series fronted by Australian children’s entertainment group The Wiggles.

The Wiggles group have released albums and toured the world as well as starring in TV shows

The two networks, owned by NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and Corus Entertainment respectively, have acquired the show from rights holder ABC Commercial.

Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle is the latest TV incarnation featuring the musical group, which was formed in Sydney in 1991 and has gone on to release numerous albums, tour the world and star in multiple TV shows.

The two separate multi-year licence agreements with Sprout and Treehouse also give the North American channels rights to existing TV series Ready, Steady, Wiggle!, as well as numerous studio specials featuring musical performances from the group.

ABC Commercial secured the global licensing rights to The Wiggles’ complete catalogue of music and television content last year as part of a “multimillion-dollar” five-year licence.
