Sprout gets Skates for Christmas

US children’s cablenet Sprout has picked up an animated special from Entertainment One (eOne) for its Christmas schedule.

The Magic Hockey Skates will air on Sprout at Christmas

The Magic Hockey Skates will make its US debut on the 24-hour preschool network, owned and operated by NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, during the holidays.

The half-hour 2D animated special is based on the book of the same name and follows one boy’s journey as he gains confidence and self respect with help from a pair of magic skates.

eOne has the international broadcast rights to the show, which was produced by Amberwood Entertainment, and has already sold it to Disney Channel in Latin America, KiKa in Germany, SVT in Sweden and MBC in the Middle East, among other broadcasters.
