Spike uncovers undercover cops

US cablenet Spike TV has commissioned a new factual series about undercover police officers from the co-creator of long-running US docu-reality format Cops.

Half-hour series Undercover Stings is produced by John Langley, who has worked on Fox’s Cops since it first aired in 1989, and his son Morgan. It debuts on Tuesday May 8 at 22.30 (ET/PT).

The channel has also ordered more episodes of World’s Wildest Police Videos, set to debut on Monday May 7 at 20.00. Retired Sheriff John Bunnell hosts the series, which is produced for Spike TV by Pilgrim Studios and Pursuit Productions.

Eddie Dalva, senior VP of content at Spike parent Viacom Entertainment Group, told C21: “We are trying to superserve our core audience, which is men aged between 35 and 45. But we also want to expand our audience with a broad array of shows, all with great repeatability.”
