Spike renews Eyeworks’ contractors

US cablenet Spike TV has renewed its consumer watchdog series Catch a Contractor for a second season.

The show, produced by Eyeworks USA, is fronted by carpenter Adam Carolla, contractor Skip Bedell and his private investigator wife Alison Bedell. Together they track down shady contractors and drag them back to their botched jobs to fix the mess they created.

The first season of half-hour episodes premiered on Sunday March 9 and is averaging 1.2 million viewers after seven shows. The second season will be extended to ten one-hour episodes and debut in fall 2014.

JD Roth, Todd A Nelson, Brant Pinvidic, DJ Nurre, Andy Scheer and Adam Carolla are the executive producers.
