Covert Kitchens comes from Shine America and features Graham Elliot, a judge on the US version of MasterChef, sampling one-night-only culinary events in alleyways, train cars and even tattoo parlors.

Meanwhile, Take This Job and Love It sees job applicants unwittingly compete for a full-time position as hidden cameras capture their reactions to being put through extreme on-the-job tests. The pilot is being produced for Spike by Scott Stone, Ross McCall and Stone & Company.

Eyeworks USA is producing two pilots for Spike. In To Catch A Contractor, presenter Adam Corolla hunts down shoddy builders, while Hungry Investors features Jon Taffer putting competing restaurateurs to the test to see who can turn around their failing business fastest.

Other pilots in the pipeline include Biz Brokers, Frankenfood, Auto Body Avengers, Property Monstrosity, Reposa Justice, We’re The Boss and Hard Money.

“Our 2013 development slate reflects Spike’s ongoing commitment to develop original programming that features big stakes and engaging personalities who are leading authorities in their respective fields,” said Sharon Levy, exec VP of original series at Spike TV.
