SPI grows stake in Stopklatka TV

Polish broadcaster SPI has extended its stake in film channel Stopklatka TV after agreeing a deal with local media group Agora.

SPI subsidiary Kino Polska TV has acquired 41% of the shares in Stopklatka TV from Agora, which is leaving the country’s DTT market and has already sold stakes in channels such as Metro TV to Discovery Polska.

Kino Polska TV now holds an 82.6% stake in Stopklatka TV, which claims to have 11.4 million active subscribers and is available as a DTT network and via cable operators.

The SPI subsidiary already owns networks including Filmbox and Kino TV in Poland, and took its first stake in Stopklatka TV in 2014.
