Spain, Portugal cross Ackley Bridge

Ackley Bridge has been given two more seasons on C4

Portuguese broadcaster RTP and Spanish SVoD service Comunidad Filmin have picked up a race-themed school drama that airs on Channel 4 in the UK.

Ackley Bridge is produced by The Forge for C4 and premiered in June. It is being shopped globally by All3Media International, which secured the Spanish and Portuguese deals.

The first six-part season is set in the college of a Yorkshire mill town where two schools merge, bringing together a divided white and Asian population.

C4 recently greenlit the series for second and third runs.
