Space bitten by werewolf

Canadian cablenet Space has greenlit a new fantasy action drama based on a novel about the world’s only female werewolf.

Bitten, part of the Women of the Underworld series by author Kelley Armstrong, tells the story of a woman caught between two worlds after she is bitten by a werewolf and joins an exclusive group known as the Pack.

Bell Media-owned Space has ordered a 13×60′ series, which will be produced by No Equal Entertainment, Hoodwink Entertainment and Entertainment One, which will also handle international sales.

JB Sugar, John Barbisan and writer Daegan Fryklind will exec produce Bitten, with production due to begin in Toronto next spring.

Corrie Coe, Bell Media’s senior VP of independent production, Bell Media described this “sexy new series” as “the perfect mix of suspense, action and heart, with compelling storylines and a really strong female lead.”

Bitten follows on the heels of Orphan Black, another original drama coming to Space about a young girl who assumes the identity of a dead stranger.
