South bound for Electus

US-based distributor Electus International has hired an executive from Televisa to lead its operations in Europe.

Jonathan South is joining from Televisa International as senior VP and head of Europe. Based in London, South will report to Electus International president John Pollak.

The exec will oversee sales and distribution for the UK, France and the Nordic region, while also leading the company’s scripted coproduction business in the UK.

He will also be the main point of contact for UK third-party rights holders and will seek new international formats to bring to the US.

South was most recently head of worldwide sales and head of non-scripted and alternative programming at Televisa International.

He previously worked at A+E Networks, first as VP of sales for EMEA and then as senior VP of content.

Electus’s catalogue includes shows such as Dating Naked, Running Wild with Bear Grylls and Mob Wives.

The company is currently preparing to take franchise titles to market this year, including Running Wild with Bear Grylls, Bellator and forthcoming show The Toy Box, which will debut on ABC in the US this spring.
