Sony appoints for Asia

Sony Pictures Television Networks (SPTN) Asia has promoted one of its executives to senior VP and general manager.

Virginia Lim

Virginia Lim has replaced Hui Keng Ang, who stepped down from her role as head of content, production and marketing at SPTN Asia last year.

Lim is based in Singapore and her remit includes overseeing the management of SPTN’s activities and operations across South-East Asia and China.

She reports to SPT’s regional exec VP George Chien and works across content strategy, including the roll-out of Asia’s Got Talent, as well as distribution and advertising.

Lim said: “This is a challenging yet exciting time for the industry, and with our talented team at SPTN Asia I am confident we will continue to deliver the best in Asian and English general entertainment, while at the same time creating significant value for both our business partners and consumers.”

SPTN’s output in Asia includes magic show The Elements, an original series featuring Australian magician, illusionist and escapologist Cosentino.

Last year it also agreed a deal with Singapore-based producer Imagine Group to expand its unscripted slate.
