Snyder has overseen Turner’s animation operations, including the Cartoon Network, for six years.

His departure, first reported by The LA Times comes amid a string of management changes at Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) since John Martin became chairman and CEO of the parent company in January.

The restructure also saw David Levy, Turner’s head of sales and distribution, promoted to the post of TBS president under Martin.

In a memo to his staff, Snyder said: “It is with mixed emotions that I share with you the news that I will be leaving the company at the end of the month.

“I have had the privilege of working and partnering with some of the most creative, talented and fun people in the business, who I will miss working with every day.”

It is not yet known who will replace Snyder in his role overseeing Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Adult Swim.
