Out of five pitches in the final round of the competition, backed by LA-based distributor Small World IFT, Ukrainian producer Viktor Bulyga was selected by the three judges as the winner.

His format, titled Brother for Brother, Sister for Sister, follows a set of identical twins, one of whom must spend a day living as the other without detection by friends, family and colleagues.

As per the rules of the format contest, the winner will get their format developed for distribution by Small World’s team and presented to international buyers at Mipcom.

“The judges were unanimous immediately for this to be winner,” said Small World president Tim Crescenti.

“In my 20-plus years in the format industry, this is definitely the first format pitched to me about twins. And Viktor is a twin and brought two twin sisters for the presentation. Now that is show business and certainly made an impression.”

The other four finalists were: Andrey Babkin and Olga Royenko with their show F*ck-Up and Win!; Evgenia Zinko with The ‘At One’ Club; Pavel Linevich with reality format Son of My Mother’s Friend; and Jokin Etcheverria from Spain with President Me.

Previous winners of the Small World Big Ideas competition include Kiev prodco Selena Films and Stars in Cars, and Israeli TV executive Lital Shemesh with Come to Bed. Bulyga is the founder of the Rivne International Film Festival in Western Ukraine.
