Sky Vision advances with Avanti

Frozen Christmas looks at the world of extreme ice sculpting

Sky Vision has forged an exclusive two-year development deal with Cardiff- and London-based factual and entertainment prodco Avanti Media.

The distribution and production arm of Sky will invest in Avanti’s development and represent the firm’s programming and formats internationally including doc duo Frozen Christmas (1×60’) and Beijing Billionaires (1×60′, working title).

The former explores the world of extreme ice sculpting while the latter provides insights and exclusive access into the lives of the Chinese super-rich. Both shows will air later this year on Channel 4 in the UK.

Emyr Afan, chief creative officer at Avanti, said: “We welcome the backing and the strategic international guidance from Sky Vision in expanding our development slate and broadcaster reach both in the UK and US. The timing of this deal is perfect for our continued growth.”

Barnaby Shingleton, director of factual and entertainment at Sky Vision, added that he was “excited about the solid, internationally appealing factual and entertainment portfolio that they’ve created.
