Sky Living, Now TV dial 9-1-1

9-1-1 is produced for Fox in the US

European pay TV operator Sky’s Living channel and TV streaming service Now TV in the UK have made a multi-season commitment to acquire a procedural drama created by Ryan Murphy.

9-1-1 is produced for Fox in the US by 20th Century Fox Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision. Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear are creators, executive producers and writers on the show.

Bradley Buecker (American Horror Story) is an executive producer and directed the series premiere. Alexis Martin Woodall (American Horror Story) and Angela Bassett (The Rosa Parks Story) also serve as executive producers.

The drama was acquired by Sky from 20th Century Fox Television Distribution (TCFTVD) in a deal brokered by Lucy Criddle, Sky’s head of acquisitions series and David Smyth, senior VP and MD of TCFTVD UK.

9-1-1 explores the high-pressure experiences of police, paramedics and firefighters while dealing with their own personal problems. The series stars Bassett, Peter Krause (The Catch, Six Feet Under) and Connie Britton (Nashville, Friday Night Lights).

Other US dramas already on Sky Living include The Good Doctor, Scandal, Blindspot, Chicago Fire, Criminal Minds, Grey’s Anatomy and Nashville.

In addition to the UK and Ireland, the series has been licensed by TCFTVD in numerous territories including Canada, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Belgium, Russia and Sweden.
