Titled Gaddafi, the show has been created and written by Roberto Saviano (Gomorrah) and Nadav Schirman (The Green Prince), with Clive Bradley (Trapped, City of Vice) joining the project as a co-writer.

It is currently being developed by Italian production outfit Palomar and global producer and distributor Entertainment One (eOne).

Saviano and Schirman will also serve as executive producers while Carlo Degli Esposti and Nicola Serra are originating and producing for Palomar. Polly Williams and Carolyn Newman will spearhead the project for eOne and Nils Hartmann and Sonia Rovai take the lead for Sky Italia.

Sky Italia will air the show in Italy, with eOne controlling worldwide rights.

Saviano is an Italian journalist and writer whose first novel, Gomorrah, has been released in more than 50 countries, selling more than 10 million copies worldwide. He also worked on the screenplay of Sky Italia’s TV series of the same title, which was inspired by his work.

Gaddafi will be told from multiple perspectives that chronicle the life of the dictator, who was captured and killed in October 2011. It will also explore the complexities of the oil business and the Arab world’s current relationship with the West.
