Sky debates with Twofour show

UK satcaster Sky1 has ordered an eight-part show about a children’s debating competition from the production company behind popular documentary series Educating Yorkshire.

The Kings & Queens of Speech (working title, 8×60′) is being produced by UK indie Twofour and will attempt to transform the lives of children living across the UK through the debating tournament.

It will be executive produced by Dan Adamson for Twofour and Deborah Sargeant for Sky, with the prodco’s Sam Grace attached as series producer.

The show is set to air weekdays at 20.00 next year and is part of Sky1 director Adam MacDonald’s plan to revitalise the slot.

MacDonald, recruited from A+E Networks UK in March last year, has already ordered shows including holiday-based The Sun Set (w/t) and gardening series Welcome to my Garden to bolster the channel’s offering.
