Sky has acquired Occupied from Zodiak Rights

The 10×45’ show, coproduced by Zodiak-owned Yellowbird and GTV for TV2 in Norway and Franco-German net Arte, examines what happens to a nation when it is under a silk-glove occupation – where Russia controls the country and oil resources but otherwise life continues as normal.

The series is based on an original idea from Scandi writer Jo Nesbø and will premiere on TV2 Norway on October 4 and Arte later in November.

The deal was struck by Sophie Judge, acquisitions manager for Sky Entertainment, and Chris Stewart, VP of sales for UK and Eire, and acquisitions, at Zodiak Rights.

The show is on Zodiak Rights’ slate for Mipcom next month, along with other scripted series including The Returned and Versailles.
