Jane Featherstone’s UK prodco Sister Pictures has again raided her previous company Kudos, this time for one of the producers behind Channel 4 and AMC drama Humans.

Chris Fry starts at Sister as an executive producer later this year and will rejoin former Kudos CEO Featherstone on the fledgling production outfit’s slate of projects.

Fry has previously worked on BBC dramas Spooks and Mayday, as well as The Smoke for Sky1 in the UK, and is executive producing the second series of Humans for C4 and AMC. The two broadcasters unveiled another copro yesterday.

Featherstone, who launched Sister Pictures after leaving Endemol Shine Group-owned Kudos in January, said Fry is “a highly talented and creative executive producer with impeccable credentials and I am chuffed to bits we are going to be collaborating again to make more great drama.”

Fry added: “To work alongside Jane and the rest of the team at Sister, developing and producing ambitious, bold and distinctive new drama, is extremely exciting.

“I have absolutely loved my time at Kudos, working with some incredible people on projects I’m enormously proud of, but it feels like the right time for a new challenge so, while I’m sad to be leaving such a fabulous company, I’m very excited to get started.”

Sister appointed Kudos’s former head of development earlier this year to head up a new comedy label, while the Endemol Shine-owned firm’s former co-CEO Dan Isaacs arrived at Featherstone’s prodco in February.

Sister’s slate includes two shows for C4 including a new season of dark comedy Flowers as well as The Bisexual, which was created by and stars Desiree Akhavan.

Featherstone left Kudos, as well as her co-chairman position at parent company Shine UK, in 2015 after 15 years with the firm following the merger of Endemol, Shine and Core Media.

Her new company is producing drama for both UK and international buyers, including The Split, a show set in the world of divorce lawyers from The Hour creator Abi Morgan.
