Sinking Ship floats sales arm

Canadian children’s prodco Sinking Ship Entertainment has launched an international distribution arm and appointed an industry veteran to head it up.

Lynn Chadwick has been named VP of sales and distribution at the Toronto-based firm, which was created in 2004 and specialises in kids’ live-action cross-platform content.

She was previously VP of network content acquisitions and pay TV at Corus Entertainment, where she managed all acquisitions across the company’s cable and pay TV services including Treehouse and W Network.

She’s also worked for Nelvana Enterprises, plus Greenlight International and Salter Street Films International.

Chadwick will work across Sinking Ship’s upcoming slate of live-action and animated series, as well as original online content. The firm’s recent shows include Dino Dan, This is Daniel Cook and Are we there yet?: World Adventure, and is currently working on hybrid series Annedroids.

Blair Powers, partner and exec producer at Sinking Ship, said: “The launch of our own distribution division is a natural next step in our growth as we look to 2014 with our biggest production slate to date.”
