Sindbad & The 7 Galaxies has been pre-sold to MBC3, Sun TV and Be.Televison

Sindbad & The 7 Galaxies has been pre-sold to MBC3, Sun TV and Be.Televison

Amazon in the US and Discovery Kids in MENA are amongst operators to have agreed pre-sale deals for the first show from Creative Media Partners (CMP), the media company founded by ex-KidsCo chief and Walt Disney exec Paul Robinson.

The duo will air Sinbad & The 7 Galaxies (26×11′), an adventure comedy show aimed at six- to 11-year olds, along with Greece’s ERT and Singapore’s okto Kids channel.

The pre-sales mean the animation has now been picked up in 22 markets, with free-to-air Middle Eastern broadcaster MBC3, India’s Sun TV and free-to-air Nigerian channel Be.Television having already agreed deals for the show.

Munich-based Your Family Entertainment brokered the deals with Discovery and Amazon US while digital distributor MoMedia closed the ERT Greece sale and Hong Kong-based Lightning International secured the MediaCorp arrangement.

Robinson, director of CMP, said: “These latest sales not only validate our positioning of the show as both a digital and traditional broadcast proposition, but also confirm that our commercial and creative instincts are sound.

“Sinbad will do the business for channels and platforms, while giving children a fresh and exciting comedy adventure that will inspire, amuse and educate.”

CMP is planning season two of Sindbad & The 7 Galaxies, adding a further 26×11′ to the series, which will be greenlit when production finishes on the first series in July 2017.

The show is produced by New Zealand-based Huhu Studios, with animation produced in Taiwan and Beijing.
