NEWS BRIEF: Showtime Networks has created a new role of president of distribution, business development and network operations.

The US cablecaster has promoted Tom Christie into the role from his post as executive VP of affiliate sales. He’s been at the firm for almost 25 years and on his watch Showtime subs have risen 80% to 22 million over the past nine years.
