Showtime dismisses Roadies

Roadies will not get a second season

Roadies will not get a second season

US premium cablenet Showtime has cancelled Cameron Crowe’s dramedy Roadies after one season.

The show, which marked the Jerry Maguire director’s first ever TV series, brought in only 500,000 viewers for its finale in August, according to Nielsen’s Live +3 ratings.

The 10-episode series revolved around the lives of a touring band and hailed from Warner Bros Television. It counted JJ Abrams and Winnie Holzman among its executive producers.

“Though we could tell a thousand more stories, this run ends with a complete 10-hour tale of music and love,” Crowe wrote in a blog post.

Last week, Spanish pay TV platform Movistar+ and CBS Studios International signed a licensing deal for linear and SVoD rights to current, past and future Showtime series.
