Showcase unveils scripted VR series

VR outfit Secret Location’s scripted web series Halcyon

Corus Entertainment-owned Showcase in Canada has launched a hybrid virtual reality (VR) scripted web series for Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR.

Halcyon consists of 10 shortform webisodes and five interactive VR episodes and is created and produced by Secret Location, the Canuck firm acquired by Entertainment One earlier this year.

Set in the year 2040, the series follows the investigation into the mysterious death of the CEO of the world’s leading VR company and stars Michael Therriault, Lisa Marcos and Harveen Sandhu.

It was produced with the financial participation of the Independent Production Fund and the Ontario Media Development Corp.
