Shout! lands former MTV veteran

A former senior VP of comedy and animation at MTV has joined the distribution and production arm of LA-based Shout! Factory.

Brent Haynes has joined Shout! Studios in the newly created role of head of TV development and will report to Shout! Factory’s co-founder and president Garson Foos.

The exec will spearhead Shout! Studios’ premium content development for TV and digital entertainment services, working with Shout’s founders Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos, and senior VP of content licensing and strategy David McIntosh.

Haynes is a veteran TV executive and producer with 20 years of experience in series development and production for broadcasters in the US and Canada.

Most recently, Haynes served as president and executive producer of Picture Arcade, his development and production firm. Previously, he was senior VP of comedy and animation at MTV in New York.

Prior to that, Brent worked at The Comedy Network in Canada where he helped launch the channel before becoming VP of programming.
