Seven to expose Liar down under

A broadcaster in Australia has pre-bought Liar, the forthcoming drama produced by Two Brothers Pictures for ITV in the UK and Sundance TV in the US.

Six-part thriller Liar stars Ioan Gruffudd and Joanne Froggatt

Seven Network will air the six-part emotional thriller down under, joining broadcasters including TVNZ in New Zealand, HBO Nordic and TF1 in France in taking the show.

It is distributed by All3Media International and stars Ioan Gruffudd (Forever) and Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey) as a man and woman whose date together goes on to have far-reaching consequences for them and their families.

All3Media acquired UK-based Two Brothers Pictures in February. The firm is also behind BBC comedy Fleabag and was established by Harry and Jack Williams, the writing duo responsible for The Missing, in 2014.

Angus Ross, director of programming at Seven Network, said the show’s “terrific storytelling and powerful subject matter will have viewers hooked until the very end.”
