Cats Make You Laugh Out Loud

Australia’s Seven Network has picked up a humorous documentary series about animals from the UK’s Passion Distribution, which has also sold an observational doc set in a gay sauna into New Zealand.

Australia’s Seven, TVB in Hong Kong and Nat Geo Wild across Asia have all taken …Make You Laugh Out Loud (7×60′).

The entertainment series focuses on talented, funny and weird animals and their owners. It originally aired on Channel 5 in the UK, produced by Passion’s Tinopolis stablemate Mentorn Media, with episodes themed on cats, dogs, animals and pets.

Passion has also sold a slate of one-off, one-hour docs to Sky in New Zealand including My Perfect Birth, Britain’s Poshest Nanny and Secret Life of the Gay Sauna.

The latter enters the notoriously secretive world of the gay sauna, meeting the staff who work there and the people who use it for sexual pleasure. ABC2 in Australia has also picked up the film, produced by Firecracker.

Elsewhere in Australia, pubcaster SBS has acquired Dara O’Briain Meets Stephen Hawking, with the stand-up comedian and science enthusiast interviewing the professor for the BBC. Rain Media Entertainment and Big Red Productions produced the hour-long film.
