SEO tracks down Germany’s Local Heroes

Geronimo produced Local Heroes for Belgium’s VTM

German pubcaster ARD has commissioned a local version of Belgian docu-reality format Local Heroes for its WDR channel.

SEO Entertainment will make the German version of the series after licensing rights from Israeli distributor Armoza Formats, with production due to begin next month.

The show, originally made by Belgian prodco Geronimo for VTM, follows the lives of a city’s emergency services – ranging from firefighters and paramedics to bomb squads and drug units.

Meanwhile, ProSiebenSat.1 in Austria has acquired the original Belgian show and recently began airing it on its PULS 4 network. A second season is due on VTM in September.
