Senior execs bolster Three Arrows

Toby Hughes

Three Arrows Media, the fledgling UK kids’ indie set up by former BBC and Zodiak execs Jon Hancock and David Hallam, has made three appointments to its senior management team.

Bristol-based entrepreneur Toby Hughes has taken a minority stake in the firm, which was set up in 2015, and joined the board as non-executive director.

Hughes has experience of financing and scaling start-ups, having previously been involved in Leadbay and MoneyHub.

Meanwhile, Dominic Parry is joining as head of production and Rachel Thompson as production manager.

Parry will lead production on Treasure Champs, which was recently given a two-season green light by CBeebies, and is also advising Three Arrows more widely through his new production consultancy DogDuck Media.

Dominic is a former chief operating officer at BBC Children’s and more recently was part of the executive team at the BBC’s renowned Natural History Unit in Bristol.

Thompson was previously head of production at UK indie Nine Lives Media. The Manchester-based firm recently secured a two-season commission from CBeebies for its series Treasure Champs.

Hallam said: “We share common goals and values with Toby and we are thrilled that he has decided to cement the relationship by becoming a shareholder. His extensive knowledge and entrepreneurial acumen will help us accelerate the growth of the business and we already have exciting plans in place which we’ll be implementing over the coming months.”
