Scripps confirms EMEA exec

US cablenet operator Scripps Networks Interactive has expanded the distribution side of its business by confirming the appointment of a programme licensing and distribution chief for EMEA.

Jo Lovell left rival operator A+E Networks in October last year after just under four years as senior director of content sales in EMEA to join Scripps.

Her appointment as director of international programme licensing and distribution for EMEA has now been made official. She will be based in London reporting to Hud Woodle, VP of international programme licensing and distribution for Scripps Networks International.

Lovell will be responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with clients throughout the region and maximising the Scripps catalogue. The company took back international distribution of its programming by launching a sales arm last September.

Woodle said: “As our international programme licensing business continues to grow, it is imperative that we establish a strong global sales force. Jo’s extensive experience in TV distribution, particularly in territories across EMEA, along with her vast industry knowledge and keen ability to develop and cultivate client relationships, makes her a valuable addition to the team.”
