Set in a bizarre, 1960’s inspired version of World War II, action comedy series DANGER 5 follows a team of five spies on a mission to kill Adolf Hitler. Danger 5 is the finest group of special operatives the Allies have to offer: Jackson from the USA, Tucker from Australia, Ilsa from Russia, Claire from Britain and Pierre from Europe. Each episode, Danger 5 unravels another of Hitler’s diabolical schemes and finds themselves in an endless series of compromising situations taking them to the farthest corners of the globe.
In France, Danger 5 is on a mission to discover why Hitler has been abducting the world’s national monuments with his squad of Nazi zeppelins. Claire poses as a dancer at Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest birthday party while Pierre is reunited with a lover from the past who is not who she appears to be.
In Morocco, Danger 5 searches for a British agent who disappeared in Hitler’s mysterious African casino. Claire manages to get Tucker trapped in an Italian Submarine and we discover Ilsa was once married to Erwin Rommel, the Desert Fox.
In a forgotten prehistoric plateau deep within Antarctica, Danger 5 encounters the bizarre Dr. Mengele and his sinister stronghold filled with Nazi dinosaur minions. Mengele forces Jackson and Ilsa to battle mutants in his death arena, using their lives as leverage to convince Claire to let him de-flower her. Meanwhile, Pierre and Tucker must win the favour of a tribe of militant apes.
In Japan and Burma, Danger 5 gets into a series of predicaments with Tucker and Ilsa facing brainwashing by Hitler and the Japanese Emperor Hirohito, while Pierre and Jackson fall into the deadly, seductive claws of Lady Opium.
In Switzerland, the vice capital of Europe, Danger 5 is trying to establish why Allied troops are spontaneously turning German when things get complicated after Jackson and Ilsa kill Himmler’s offsider, Reinhard Heydrich, and are subsequently abducted and taken to Hitler’s sex castle. Meanwhile Pierre falls in love with a Swiss hooker.
DANGER 5 is an aesthetically dense series that evokes a fusion of James Bond action, Thunderbirds miniatures, 1960s cigarette commercial sex appeal, Power Rangers monsters, afro-cuban jazz grooves, Star Trek sets, Mario Bava lighting, New Hollywood pathos and more than a touch of Adam West Batman all into one overwhelming audio-visual experience. All of these elements combine to create a distinctly unique fantasy universe providing an over-sexed interpretation of what the world would look like if the Second World War happened in 1968.
