Few men have had as great an impact on American popular culture as Walt Disney. Presented by Diane Disney Miller, Walt’s daughter, and narrated by Dick Van Dyke, this is the official biography of Disney and how he created his entertainment empire. Containing over 50 interviews with Disney legends including celebrities Dick van Dyke, Dean Jones, Robert Stack and Buddy Ebsen, as well as the legendary animators of “Snow White” and film directors like Ken Annakin and Pixar’s John Lasseter, this film showcases exclusive footage that can’t be seen anywhere else and is truly priceless. Filled with never-before-seen color home movies shot by Walt himself, the film also features excerpts from his most treasured movies, from “Pinocchio” and “Bambi” to “Fantasia” and “Mary Poppins”. But the picture is not a white-wash, and contains rare footage of other moments such as Disney’s testimony before the HUAC Committee, and the 1941 strike at the Disney studios. Filmed on location throughout the U.S. and Britain, with lots of “behind-the-scenes” footage from the Golden Age of Disney animation, WALT: The Man Behind The Myth is a unique motion picture sure to delight Disney fans and discriminating film buffs alike.
