In each episode on Ink Master the tension and stakes are high as live canvasses are used in various tattoo challenges that not only test the artists' technical skills, but also their on-the-spot creativity, where they must create and execute an original tattoo on command.
Judging their work is a panel of tattoo experts who critique the artists for tattooing techniques such as shading, line, proportion, and style.
The expert trio whittles down the field one by one until the head-to-head showdown, where the finalists battle in ink for the ultimate cash prize and the coveted title of Ink Master.
