Julian Duarte is a well-known Civil Engineer who is happily married and has a son. Julian is the kind of person who would move mountains for his family. Camila, wife of Ricardo Padrilla, who is one of Julian´s closest friends, invites Julian over to her house to discuss some terrible events that happened. Julian accepts Camila’s invitation, however things go wrong. For, at the exact moment that Julian walks into the house an assassin ends Camila´s life. Julian couldn’t stop the killer and was presumed guilty of murder. What’s worst, there was no way he could prove his innocence since all the evidence in the crime scene pointed to him as the only author; his clothes were covered in blood and his fingerprints were on the murder weapon due to the struggle with the assassin.
Once in prison, Julian loses everything he owns. Not only was he deprived economically speaking but also from the love of his wife and his son. When he was imprisoned, they both turned their backs on him. While paying his sentence, Julian opens his heart for love; Esperanza, an inmate, will become his supporter and informer on a massive break out that the rest of the prisoners are planning. Nonetheless, she offered him her help in exchange for his cooperation to prove her innocence to her daughter, Michaela. Julian takes the opportunity and breaks out of jail but in order to gain his freedom back he must prove that he is not guilty of Camilla’s murder before he gets re-captured and penalized with a higher sentence. Julian finds Michaela, but she doesn´t believe a word he says. Moreover, in the middle of the chase, Julian and Michaela end up traveling around the country in search of evidence that that will prove his and Esperanza´s innocence.
