TALKING SHOP: US-based documentary portal SnagFilms is poised to benefit from the increasingly complex content consumption landscape in 2012, CEO Rick Allen tells Jonathan Webdale.
Says Allen: “You’ll see consumers increasingly consuming content in different ways through different devices. That’s a trend that will only accelerate. That puts downward pressure on fixed licence fees and makes somewhat more difficult the traditional platforms of distribution. That’s a great advantage to folks who are more multi-faceted and digitally based.”
The former National Geographic Ventures CEO and Discovery senior VP also says that SnagFilms, which is backed by a group of AOL alumni, has some exciting things in development with Facebook and is aiming for true ubiquity in 2012.
