TALKING SHOP: After 21 years of independent factual television production, London-based October Films is eyeing more work in the US. In this episode of Talking Shop, MD Denman Rooke discusses his new Dispatches commissions for Channel 4, the role of current affairs programming and staying independent.
"The American market is very exciting at the moment. There are a lot of very interesting developments in factual and there is an energy among some of the American channels that isn't always evident here. We would like to see the company grow significantly, and part of that is international expansion."
Rooke also reflects on a recent commission from Sky Arts for a programme with satirist Alison Jackson.
