Ride Upon the Storm draws on the tale of Cain and Abel, telling the story of a priest whose sons follow him into the church, one going off to war as a military chaplin while the other finds Buddhism in the Himalayas – journeys that test all of their faiths.
The series, a coproduction from DR Fiktion, Arte France and SAM Productions – the company Price set up with The Killing creator Soren Svestrup and backed by distributor StudioCanal – represents an attempt to break away from gritty Nordic noir and carve out a new genre.
