Launched in 2015, Go90 has been spending big on content – over US$200m last year, according to some accounts. Former YouTube exec Kirkbride joined in July from Vessel, which Verizon subsequently acquired and integrated into its service, laying off 150 Go90 employees in the process this January. General manager Chip Canter departed in April but the firm continues to invest in original and acquired programming under Kirkbride.
