Science moves for BattleBots

Science Channel in the US has taken off-network cable rights to ABC’s robot-fighting series BattleBots.

The Discovery-owned US cablenet has picked up 16 episodes of the show, which launched on ABC in 2015 and was followed by a second season last year.

The show features homemade robots battling against each other in a knock-out tournament and reveals the stories behind those who create the machines.

BattleBots, which will premiere July 12, aired on Comedy Central for five seasons until 2002 prior its 2015 relaunch. It’s produced by US-based Whalerock Industries and was picked up for global distribution by Sky Vision.
