Australian pubcaster SBS has picked up French drama Spotless from its distributor StudioCanal.

The English-language drama was originally produced by Tandem Productions, in which StudioCanal holds a majority stake, for French pay TV broadcaster Canal+.

StudioCanal has already sold the 10-parter to NBCUniversal’s Esquire Network in the US, where it aired as the channel’s first scripted series, beginning last Sunday. SBS will premiere the show down under in 2016.

Starring Marc-André Grondin and Inglorious Basterds’ Denis Ménochet, the plot revolves around a crime scene cleaning business and its owner whose life is turned upside down when his outlaw brother reappears on the scene.

It was co-created and written by Bafta winner Ed McCardie (Shameless) and Academy Award winner Corinne Marrinan (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) and was shot on location in London.
