Sassy snares ex-Zodiak Active MD

UK advertising prodco Sassy Films has hired a former FremantleMedia UK and Zodiak Active exec as its head of digital to bolster the company’s activities in the area.

Robert Marsh joins Sassy Films having previously headed up FremantleMedia UK’s digital unit, working on apps for The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, between 2009 and 2011.

He went on to join Zodiak Media’s digital arm Zodiak Active as MD, a role he left in July last year amid a reshuffle to set up his own digital content business, Robert & Friends.

More recently he has been working with media brands including The Guardian and Banijay Group, while last year he was appointed chairman of international trade body the Branded Content Marketing Association.

Sassy Films has a full-time team of 30 writers, producers, directors and post-production and motion graphic artists. It produces content on behalf of a wide range of brands, including American Express, Easyjet, Warner Bros, Channel 4 and Jackpotjoy.

Marsh will work within a new digital division at the company on digital and social media strategy as well as multi-platform content.
